It was a loose association of artists who began to work in the figure technique.
There was a lot of pride taken in painting these beautiful vessels and there was good natured, if not very real, between workshops.

On this amphora Euthymides signed it "Euthymides painted me as never could" ! They were preceded by the such as Andokides.

3. What is the theme of this scene? How has the artist added vitality to it?

"" is a popular theme of the time. Not a profound literary or moral story just a story of three guys partying. They are actually pretty funny as they prance around each other. The figure on the left is using a kantharos ( vessel) to drink from.

The figures are lively and animated in complex poses. Euthymides has created a very believable three-dimensional space through his of their arms and legs and .

The centre figure (Eudemos) twists and turns, and that he has legs through to three-quarter buttocks to full view and face.

The other two (Komarchos and Teles) also exhibit frontal poses with their chests and abdomens to suit their twisted poses.
